The worst "upscale" restaurant I've ever been too. The soup and salad bar was OK but the entree (Chicken Ala Summit) and sides (twice baked potato) were terrible. The twice baked potato looked like it was microwaved from a frozen package you'd by in the grocery store. There are few restaurants in the area (especially "nice" ones) so people continue to go here, but please instead go to Madeline's in Orwigsburg for a truly great meal.

Loved this place, but for some reason the quality is going down in the last year or so.. Not sure if the passion is gone or what. Still a good meal, but there are better choices out there and closer to me. Hope they get the passion/love back and make things they way they were. Sorry..

Okay. Just okay. If you've been on the road for a while and need something to eat, this is a good place to stop. I had been here a few years ago and remembered the view, that's why I stopped this time.

Stopped in for lunch with my wife and wish is kept on going. Have to disagree with those who have called it an upscale restaurant. It looks very nice from the outside, but once inside you can feel the years. Ordered the seafood platter and was almost in tears for how overcooked everything was. It was very obvious that the chef did not know how to properly prepare lobster and scallops. Both were rubbery and you have to use a knife to cut them. Seriously? A knife to cut a bay scallop? The shrimp were similarly overcooked and not properly deveined. I ordered the stuffed bake potato and it looked like a burnt crab cake. Not even a full potato. My wife had chicken fingers and she enjoyed them, so not all was lost. The crab dip appetizer was also pretty good. I did not try the salad bar, because I don't like salads, but when I told my wife she could have my salad, the waitress told us no, the salad was on my entree, not hers. All in all, not worth the drive if you are from out of town. If your local you will be able to pick what work and what doesn't. I did mention to our server that the seafood was overcooked and her reply was that the chef had been doing it for 25 years. Enough to drop my original two stars to one.

Food wasn't as good as it was our last visit. Good service at our table but we were greeted when we walked in with "do you have reservations?" Not even hello first! Then we went up to pay the cashier just put her hand out and didn't even speak. She then said "sign here" and handed us the receipt. Very poor way to treat people.

I am giving the Summit View 4 stars because it is one of the best restaurant in the area. Try the pick two, fillet a la summit-- topped with crab meat and then a fillet. Very rich meal, but definitely worth it. Prepared to be stuffed. Friendly staff. Pleasant atmosphere. If you are in the area check out the Summit View for a nice dinner.

I have to disagree with some of the posts above. First, the view is truly fantastic if you are there on the right day with a window table. The food I've had was definitely worth the price, Crab cakes were excellent with very little stuffing. Steaks done the way I wanted. Salad bar is good but don't expect to find too many clams in the chowder. Further, they seem to have a knack for finding good servers. Always friendly with just a touch of "smart ass" if they feel comfortable with you. (I like that). This place is worth a try if you're in the area.

This restaurant is a hidden gem for small town Pennsylvania! I eat here every time I'm in the area and have never had a bad meal. It's not themed as upscale in fact their website calls it casual dining but the view is amazing and the food very surprising. Every meal comes with their amazing salad bar with homemade soups and fresh baked breads. The pick two combo is a great deal and portions are huge! I can't wait to return on my next visit to Schulykill Haven!

Had a family member's birthday party here, so my review is based on a meal that was prepared as part of a party 15-18 people in size. Not that this should impact the quality of the food, but I will give 2 stars due to the larger party size. Clam chowder soup had all potatoes and no clams. Literally, I was the 4th person in line when the soup was put out, so it's not like someone took all the clams. Ordered a steak rare and it came out well-done. In my opinion, even a line cook should be able to get close to the desired temperature and it's simply not caring when you send a rare steak out well-done. Crab cake was in a pool of butter and tasted frozen. Broccoli and cheese side dish was (this is no joke) two pieces of broccoli with cheese whiz over it. Disappointing to say the least. Staff is super friendly and drinks are cheap.
